Abundant Blessings

I just heard this from the sermon the pastor gave during the service, and I just can't help but be amazed.

This happened after a house blessing the pastor conducted. After the house blessing, the owner of the house approached the pastor and told him of how much blessings he has received from the Lord.

The guy was in a relationship with his then wife for 9 years. Being broke, he can't afford to go on a date, much more propose to the girl. One day while on his way home, he heard an announcement on the radio promo. The radio station was giving away 2 free tickets to Gary V.'s concert. Since he didn't have anything to lose he decided to join the promo. A little while after, the DJ gave the name of the lucky person who won the 2 tickets - and that person was him.

And so he asked the girl to go out on a date with him on the concert. On their way to the concert, another person approached them, wanting to buy their tickets to the concert. It was a good offer, since he will be compensated for the free tickets he won, and they can have a sumptuous dinner. However, he declined the offer and headed to the concert. Upon reaching the concert lobby, they saw a number of well-known persons and a free buffet. They were able to watch the concert and have their stomachs full. Although broke, he proposed to the girl the same day, and eventually they got married.

After getting married, they decided to open their own business. They were located in a small corner in Virra Mall, obscured by larger shops. Even though they were in a "non-popular" location, a reporter somehow got to their stall and interviewed them. It was aired on television, and a few days later, they got a call asking them to present their products - in the U.S.

Although thrilled by the idea of going to the U.S. to promote their product, they were also worried by the visa. They have tried getting a visa before but somehow they always gets denied. Knowing this, they asked a pastor to pray for them after attending Sunday service. When they got to the embassy, they waited till their names were called. After a while, someone called their names. They got to the panel, and the interviewee asked them "Are you nervous?". Naturally they were, and they answered yes. Then the interviewee said "So am I, this is my first time." And so they chatted, not about the papers but about Manila weather. After a while, the interviewee gave them a 4-month visa to the U.S.

After a successful presentation at the U.S. another person called them asking if they could present at another U.S. state. Having the same problem of getting a visa, they asked a pastor to pray for them after another Sunday service. When they got to the embassy, they were interviewed by the same person who interviewed them the first time, and gave them a 10-year visa.

I'm sure that there's more to the story, like what happens afterward. At first, I was thinking how lucky they were, as if the universe was aligned for their benefit. Then again, it's not about how the universe was aligned, it was how much blessings God gave them because they were for the Lord.
