Ingredients:
- 1/4 kg shrimp
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 50g unsalted butter
- 100 mL Sprite or 7-Up
- 2 tbsp cornstarch as sauce thickener
- iodized salt, ground pepper, and ground cayenne pepper to taste
Procedure:
- Melt butter on pan on high heat
- Add garlic and saute until you can smell the garlic aroma. Make sure that the garlic doesn't get overcooked (do not toast the garlic)
- Add shrimp and cook until shrimp becomes almost orange on both sides
- Pour Sprite/7-Up and put pan in medium heat. Let it simmer for about 2 minutes.
- Add cornstarch and let it simmer for another minute or until the sauce becomes slightly thick.
- Add salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper to taste
- You may opt to remove the cornstarch if you wish for the sauce to be thinner
- You may opt to not add the ground cayenne pepper if you do not want the sauce to be spicy
- Serves around 2-3 persons
